Raigad is a hill fort situated in Mahad, Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. Many constructions and structures that we see on raigad were built by Chhatrapati Shivaji when he made it his capital in
hese caves are built on the Trirasmi hill about 3004 feet above the sea. These caves are the group of old Buddhist caves (B.C.250- A.D.600). Their northern frontage saves them from the sun and the south-west rains hence much of the carved work and many long and most valuable inscriptions have passed fresh amd unharmed through 1500-2000 years.
The hot springs stretch for about 7 km in the bed of this river, the most well known ones being located here and at the nearby villages of Akloli, Ganeshpuri and Satvalli. The temperature of the water in the springs ranges from 43 C to 49 C. Into most of the springs the locals will jump at once, though there are one or two very hot ones which they do not enter, until first they have bathed in the cooler springs.
